Advanced Surgery for Jaw and Facial Fractures and Tailored Treatments

Fractures of the jaw and face are common after physical assaults, traffic accidents, workplace incidents, or falls. In these cases, it is crucial not only to achieve complete functional recovery but also to minimize aesthetic consequences.
These surgeries are rarely performed as emergency procedures; they are carefully planned using X-ray examinations and 3D technology. Recovery from a facial or jaw fracture typically takes between 1 and 2 months, depending on the severity of the case.

Types of Facial Fractures

Fracturas dento-alveolares

These fractures affect the teeth and the supporting bone. They range from minor injuries to the enamel to tooth loss. In most cases, they occur during sports accidents. In children, they are often associated with play.

Jaw Fractures

Jaw fractures usually occur due to physical assaults, certain sports, and traffic accidents. Surgical treatment restores the patient’s bite and repositions the broken fragments to their original position using osteosynthesis plates.

Orbital-Zygomatic Fractures

These are fractures of the cheekbone and eye socket. Through surgery, the three-dimensional structure of the entire cheekbone (zygomatic) is restored, and the eye socket is reconstructed to avoid vision problems for the patient.

Nasal Fractures

Trauma to the nose can vary in severity depending on damage to the cartilage and bones that make up the nasal structure and the nasal septum. Treatment can range from simple ice application to reduce swelling to surgical restoration of the nasal pyramid.
