The placement of zygomatic implants is performed exclusively by experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeons with a significant number of successful cases.
Zygomatic implants are used to place complete upper jaw prostheses when the patient does not have sufficient bone in the upper jaw (severe maxillary atrophy). This method is particularly suitable for patients who are tired of removable dentures and wish to regain aesthetics and functionality similar to natural teeth.
These implants are longer than conventional dental implants and anchor in the zygomatic bone, making them possible without bone grafting.
Our specialists have worked on thousands of cases, all of which are very different. At the Marta Vallés clinic, we adapt to each patient.
At our oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic in Torrevieja, we tailor each case to achieve excellent results:
During an initial visit, the patient's general oral health is assessed, and a diagnostic examination (CT scan) is recommended to plan the surgery.
Using the CT scan, which is a 3D X-ray of the patient's mouth, the surgery is planned.
The surgery is performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia if the patient desires. The procedure takes about 2 hours, depending on the complexity of the case.
Depending on the patient, a temporary prosthesis can be placed on the same day as the surgery through immediate loading. If immediate loading is not possible, a temporary prosthesis is placed one week after the surgery.
Four months after the surgery, the final permanent prosthesis is placed. We recommend zirconium as the material for the final prosthesis due to its aesthetic and functional advantages.
